Description |
The pirate Kezori Kyuuemon,
from the play Hakata Kojoro Nami Makura, by Chikamatsu Monzaemon (1653-1724), considered the greatest Japanese playwriter of all times. This series
was published in 1923-1926 as supplement to The Complete Works of Chikamatsu,
a part of the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of his
death. It includes 18 prints, each designed by a different and well-established artist of the time. |
