Jigoku
Dayu, or Lady from Hell, was a courtesan celebrated for his alleged
encounter with the budhist monk Ikkyū, with whom she traded
poems. In the image herkimono shows a pattern extremely
elaborated, including an image from Hell (Jigoku), and, in the
lower part a cauldron where the souls of sinners are being reduced to
