Man-Pai / Yoshitoshi: Red Cliff Moon

This print is a reference to one of the most celebrated poems of Chinese literature, composed near the end of year 1082 by Su Dongpo, or Su Shi, during a boating party to th place of the battle that marled the defeat of Cao Cao (155-220), a Chinese general that usurped imperial power near the Han Dinasty.

The print follows the Zhe style, a painting school related to the literati movement, that also inspired prints #57 (see here) and #80 (see here) of the series.
