Man-Pai / Kunichika: Tenryu Gawa

Travelers are crossing the Tenryu river, near Misuke (click here to see a rendition of the same place by Hiroshige). On the far bank we can see a Daimyo's procession. This prints is probably part of one of the several series published in 1863-64 showing images of the travel of the last Tokugawa Shogun to visit the emperor in Kyoto.
