Man-Pai / Kunichika: Kocho

 

The series refers to the masterpiece of Japanese literature “Genji Monogatari” (11th century), a novel telling the life of Genji, detailing his sentimental adventures (click here to see information about this work). In chapter 24 Genji helps Musaraki to prepare a party in her garden to answer a flower gift made by Empress Akikonomu. At the end of the party the ladies in waiting to Musaraki offered flowers to the Empress and danced to the delight of all present (click here for summary of chapter).
