Man-Pai / Hiroshige: Landscape

Hiroshige: Landscape - Sketches

There was an artificial hill in Meguro, Edo, that was a copy of Mount Fuji. The image shows that artificial hill, known as Shin Fuji (the new Fuji) against the real Fuji, snow capped, in the background. At the feet of the artificial Fuji some cherry are blossoming. The place is also shown in the "One hundred views of famous places in Edo". Compare this print with print #24 of series “Meguro, Shin Fuji - The new Fuji at Meguro” (click here).
