Aoizaka, which means
the Aoi slope, is a place in Edo where stood a water reservoir. This
reservoir, part of the outer mound of Edo Castle, feeded though a
waterfall the Shiodome River, and was one of the most celebrated
entertainment places in Edo. The place was also depicted in a print of
the "One hundred views of famous places in Edo" (click here). |
