Man-Pai/ Information

Ukiyo-e (or ukiyoe) is a Japanese term meaning images of the floating world. It is generally used to name a genre of woodblock carved prints, that flourished in Japan between the late seventeenth century and the middle nineteenth century. The term can even be used, by extension although not in a really appropriate way, to designate prints made up using similar techniques and subjects until today.
