The Tale of
Genji (Genji Monogatari), one of the masterpieces of Japanese and world
literature, is novel written in the XI century about the life of Genji. It
become the subject and the inspiration of several print series.
The Genjimon
(or Genji crest ) is a geometric symbol identifying each of the 54 chapters of
the story, that generally appears in one of the top corners of the prints
with this subject. It is thus a precious aid in the identification of those
